USDA TARGET Center’s 2018 Assistive Technology and Ergonomics Showcase

#InnovationAtWork is one-day only, hands-on event for USDA employees nationwide featuring fifteen (15) technology exploration stations and eight (8) educational sessions. Highlights will include virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR), and artificial intelligence (AI).

Artificial Intelligence, Augmented Reality and Accessibility Workshop:

Learn how new innovations in computer artificial intelligence and powerful smartphones with world-class cameras and augmented reality capabilities contribute to the accessibility of the world around us.

Ergonomics and Wellness Workshop:

Learn how workplace ergonomics can benefit employees at their workstation and how integrating ergonomics and wellness can benefit a safer, healthier and more productive workforce.

Beginner's American Sign Language (ASL) Workshop:

This workshop, facilitated by a representative from Gallaudet University, will include basic communication skills designed for participants who have little or no knowledge of ASL. Such skills include ASL questions, commands, and simple sentence structures applicable to the work environment.

OneUSDA and Effective Communications with Individuals with Disabilities Workshop:

Come and learn how to prepare when interacting with the Individuals with Disabilities. This workshop will educate you how to effectively communicate with them in many different ways.

Intercultural Communication Workshop:

This fun and interactive Deaf and Hard of Hearing awareness workshop, hosted by Gallaudet University, provides a look into the Deaf and Hard of Hearing community, their values, norms, and culture.
